  • OC submits comments on proposed changes to federal grant making
    The Ornithological Council has submitted comments to the Office of Management and Budget regarding the draft changes that the office recently published to the OMB Guidance for Federal Financial Assistance, which controls the management of federal grants, cooperative agreements, and assistance awards.  The proposed changes would increase the role of political appointees, limit financial support…
  • OC submits comments regarding banding application
    The Ornithological Council submitted comments in response to the U.S. Geological Survey’s proposed changes to its bird banding applications. You can learn more about the porpoise changes here. The OC generally supported the changes.  Comments can be submitted online through June 8. 
  • OC submits Senate testimony supporting USGS
    The Ornithological Council today submitted written testimony to the U.S. Senate Interior Appropriations Subcommittee regarding the Fiscal Year 2027 budget for the U.S. Geological Survey.
